Janyce Cooper named LVT of Year for the state of Virginia!
Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) Janyce Lynn Cooper was awarded the Virginia Association of Licensed Technician (VALVT) Veterinary Technician of the Year at the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association annual conference on Friday, February 22nd, 2013. This prestigious award honors individuals who exemplify professionalism, expertise, and compassion.
Janyce is a 2003 graduate of The Veterinary Technology Program at Blue Ridge Community College. Her professional interest in animal dentistry began in early 2004 when she began working at Pet Care Veterinary Hospital in Virginia Beach. Her fascination with exotics mixed well with her passion to educate and improve the dental health of clients’ pets. Promoting quality dental care became her ambition and as a result she has brought a higher standard of care to Pet Care Veterinary Hospital.
In 2006 Janyce was certified as a Veterinary Dental Technician through the American Society of Dental Technicians. She has recently completed the credentialing process which included 6000 hours of experience (3000 related to dental practice) along with an additional 50 hours of continuing education in various areas of animal dentistry specified by the AVDT. Janyce will be taking the final written, clinical and practical methodologies exam in 2013.
When she’s not working at Pet Care, Janyce enjoys spending time with her two adorable youngsters, Kaitlyn and Brody. Both children are involved in various activities such as dance, karate and tumbling and absolutely love demonstrating their newfound talents! Her fur family includes three dogs, five cats, and a bird, all rescues that have found their way into the Cooper home.
Thank you for saving Cinnamon’s (our ferret) life. We are so grateful and extremely lucky to still have him in our lives.
