This was our ‘Champ’. He passed away on December 4, 2006, in the morning. He was a good ‘ole boy, who never lost his puppy pep, even towards the end of his long and happy life (14 years). ‘Champ’ was a world traveler. He had been to Europe and back. He loved to go for “gee rides” in the car and to go camping. He was always willing to play ball with his humans and tug with both his human and other pack friend ‘Lucky Boy’. When that new puppy ‘Misty Bleu’ arrived, he wasn’t very happy about it. He put her in her place right away. He was ‘Top Dog’ and wasn’t moving over for a puppy. Our ‘Champ’ has been missed and his memories will live on in our hearts and in our minds.

We Have a Secret

We have a secret, you and I
that no one else shall know,
for who but I can see you lie
each night in fire glow?
And who but I can reach my hand
before we go to bed
and feel the living warmth of you
and touch your silken head?
And only I walk woodland paths
and see ahead of me,
your small form racing with the wind
so young again, and free.
And only I can see you swim
in every brook I pass
and when I call, no one but I
can see the bending grass.Author Unknown
