This section is dedicated to all of those wonderful furry, feathered and reptilian soulmates who have traveled over The Rainbow Bridge. The staff of Pet Care mourn the loss of your precious pet and would be honored if they could add your pet's photo and memorial onto this page. Please email Karen at kcalabro1@cox.net. Send her your favorite photo and a few words about your loved one and she will publish it within a few days. Some websites to visit: The Rainbow Bridge--a lovely flash animation created by Terri Pike and with music by Kerry Muzzey. It is based on the poem by Paul C. Dahm. Gorgeous Floyd Gorgeous only shared our home for six short weeks, but she will always be a part of our family. She had reflective green eyes that glowed like twin moons, silky thick long grey hair with creamy tortie marks, and a characteristic raspy "meow." She shared many firsts with Jon and I as we rented our first home together, a condo with a loft that she loved to hang out in. She loyally kept Jon's company while lived there, waiting for his bride, and while Jon and I honeymooned and family cared for her. She watched as we came back and unwrapped gifts, moved furniture around, and put together shelves and appliances. I always said that she must think Jon and I were great inventors, because we were always spread out on the floor assembling some complicated new thing. All we knew about her past was that she was found on Virginia Beach Blvd. She was always very timid, but always eager for a petting once she was sure of your hand. She liked to lie in our bed while Jon and I fell asleep, slip away in the night, and sneak back in the wee hours of dawn with her gargling "meow" to be lifted back up. During our long engagement, I dreamed of making a hot dinner for my husband, and while we passed the food and talked about our day, our dear cat would be looking up at us, rubbing our legs. Gorgeous fulfilled that dream for me, and it was one of the most satisfying moments of my life to complete that picture, my budding family of three. It breaks my heart that she had to leave us so early and so suddenly, that her body failed her in her early years, just as she was finding happiness and family. I wish that we could have enjoyed her for the many years and new firsts ahead. But she will always be our first pet, and no one can replace her and the honorable spot that she held in our lives. We loved her so much. Mr. & Mrs. Jon & Heather Floyd |
