This is an image taken of the open mouth of a dog that had bitten into an electrical
cord one year ago and received severe oral burns which were treated with
anti-inflammatory drugs and antibiotics. We are looking at the roof of the
mouth and at this time there is a wad of hair impacted behind the 4th
upper premolar tooth.

Once this wad of hair was removed it was evident that the 4th premolar tooth
needed to be removed because of disease and infection. In addition there remained
a fistula or hole in the hard palate or roof of the mouth which we can see in this photo.

In this image Dr. Hulls has made a flap of hard palate which
will be used to cover the palate fistula.

Here the palate flap has been sewn into place covering the fistula.
This surgery went on to heal well and our patient is doing very well.
Her breath is markedly improved as well!
