Corn Cobs and Pooch Do Not Mix!

Reagan Donelan is a mastiff who has a huge appetite for fun and food - and not always in that order. So, imagine her owners surprise when one Saturday Reagan didnt want to eat...or play...just lie around. Not typical Reagan behavior. Once here at Pet Care, Dr. Hulls ordered x-rays and there were several interesting objects in Reagans stomach.

After a quick consult with the owners, Reagan was whisked back to surgery where Dr. Hulls surgically removed several corn cobs. Usually vegetables are great for dogs but corn cobs do not digest at all in a dog. In a worse case scenario, if the owners hadnt noticed the change in Reagans behavior, the corn cobs may have tried to leave via the intestines causing blockages and possible perforation . Thank heavens this didnt happen.

Reagan recovered wonderfully from her experience and is now corn cob free!
