Melissa McKendry, DVM

Melissa McKendry was born and raised in Rhode Island and, in 1997, received her veterinary degree from the University of Tennessee. In 2004, she became certified in canine and feline medicine by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners . She has practiced veterinary medicine in the states of California, Virginia and in the Northeast. Most of the practices were referral and emergency hospitals where she was able to fine tune her skills in ultrasonography. In addition to working at Pet Care, she is currently on the advisory board for the journal, Veterinary Medicine, and works at the Virginia Beach SPCA.Dr. McKendry lives in Virginia Beach with her husband, 2 children, 4 cats and 2 dogs. In her free time she enjoys competing in triathlons.
